The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan

What an exciting meeting of fantasy and mythology! Percy (Perseus) Jackson has troubles in school and troubles at home. His ADHD has tried the patience of his mother and his teachers at several different schools. Camp "Half-Blood" is a refuge for Percy and others like him. Percy finds himself and unravels the mystery of his heritage in the company of demigods. The Olympians are his true family and he is a hero among them.

This series blends modern concerns with tales of gods, satyrs, and minotaurs. Harry Potter fans will love this series!

This is a great book and I really enjoyed it. I had just read "The Sea of Monsters". I liked it a lot, but I prefer this one. I believe everyone will like as much as I did.

I really liked this book. I liked how Rick Riordan used greek mythology in present day settings and places. I think this book does a great job of starting off the series. Whoever read this book should definitely read the rest of the series. It really is a great book and I really enjoyed reading it.

We enjoyed the book, The Lightning Thief, because it is exciting. It tells about Percy Jackson’s adventures as he travels to the Underworld to get Zeus’s lightning bolt. The story is funny as Percy often makes humorous remarks when caught in stressful situations. We liked reading about the Greek gods because this year we will be studying about Ancient Greece in Social Studies.

This book was amazing. It was an adventure on each page. My mind was always set on it. It had cliff hangers that made you want to read another chapter. <3 :P
